Canadian publication promotes Belize’s top tourist attractions

By Benjamin Flowers: Belize started 2022 with a massive increase in international exposure, including three top celebrities visiting the country and a number of positive mentions in international publications. Continuing this momentum, the Canadian publication “The Globe and Mail” posted a travel writing article today, encouraging travelers to see what Belize has to offer.

The article “Beach, Rainforest and Ancient Wonders Await Travelers in Belize” written by Tim Johnson, teases readers with a personal account of a breathtaking snorkeling experience in the crystal clear waters of Belize . Johnson then goes on to let readers know that Belize still has a lot to offer.

“Central America’s only English-speaking country, less than half the size of Nova Scotia, little Belize combines a blue side with a green side, a shimmering stretch of Caribbean coast to the east, with forest verdant tropical central and western dotted with archaeological sites that once formed the heartland of the Maya civilization,” Johnson said.

The article also names two Sirenian Bay Resort in Placencia and the San Ignacio Resort Hotel as recommendations for travelers to stay while in Belize, and also noted the convenience of flying Westjet.

Each positive international mention builds on the other to make Belize a must-visit destination in the region and contribute to local recovery efforts to rebuild the tourism sector that was ravaged in 2020 by the COVID-19 pandemic.
