Hampshire residents help raise money for Ukraine with the publication of a charity book
TWELVE authors from Hampshire have had their work published in a new book which is raising funds to help Ukrainians.
Their work has been published in the book of poetry and short stories celebrating Ukraine, which has already sold 79 copies, raising over £400 so far, with hopes of raising more.
All proceeds from the sale of Hope for Ukraine published by Tim Saunders Publications are donated to the Sunflower of Peace Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to helping war-affected Ukrainians.
The foundation provides medical and humanitarian aid and helps paramedics and doctors in areas affected by violence in Ukraine.
Tim Saunders, editor of Hope for Ukrainesaid, “Publishing this book is the best way for me to help Ukraine.
“Words are extremely powerful, positive words even more so, it took me a while to decide what I could do to help and I considered other fundraising initiatives, but for me, nothing was as powerful as art and literature.
“Then I thought of how many of us in the West are guilty of taking hope and freedom for granted, these two themes have become the focus of this book.
“I have been overwhelmed by the interest in this publication from the media as well as poets, writers and artists.”
