Our aim is to develop patents, incubation and start-up, quality publication, says IIT Professor Neelesh Kumar Jain

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): IIT Indore celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with great zeal and fervor. The occasion was marked by the hoisting of the national tricolor by Professor Neelesh Kumar Jain, Director (Refereeing).

In the prevailing pandemic situation, the physical presence of guests was limited and the event was broadcast live on the Institute’s website for the community.

Prof. Jain addressed the community and appreciated the efforts of the Institute during the pandemic situation. He said: “I congratulate everyone on the 73rd Republic Day. We have done a very good job over the past 25 months. Although we have been extremely successful in the areas of research and academia, we have significantly increased our reach and inclusiveness. We have signed 17 international and domestic MoUs and obtained 11 patents. The majority of students at KV IIT Indore belong to nearby villages and areas, which shows our commitment to inclusiveness. All of this was possible thanks to the hard work, patience and perseverance of the entire community. We should strive to focus now on our future goals. The Institute should focus on patent development, incubation and start-up, quality publishing. »

The event included cultural programs recorded by students, staff children, toddlers, KV IIT Indore and staff.

Over the past two years, IIT Indore has grown in terms of academics, research and infrastructure. IIT Indore has organized a fifteen-day course to study classic scientific texts in their original form and converse about them in Sanskrit to enable participants to develop the skills and confidence to converse in simple Sanskrit.

Four new courses, namely M.Tech in Space Engineering and Electric Vehicle Technology and MS (Research) in Space Science and Engineering and Humanities and Social Sciences, have been launched. M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering will start shortly. IIT Indore has also launched a unique course with IIM Indore for a joint Masters degree in Data Science and Management. The Institute was sanctioned 100 crores by DST to establish a technology innovation center in the vertical sector of system simulation, modeling and visualization under the national mission on interdisciplinary cyber-physical systems ( NMICPS).

Many new facilities have sprung up over the past two years, which has increased the Institute’s growth on the world stage. The Institute has completed Phase II and is on the verge of completing Phase I with the completion of 8 major buildings and the development of 8 major facilities during the period 2020-2022. The Phase III proposal has already been submitted to the Ministry for the required approval.
