Now in its eighth year, HEB Quest for Texas Best has expanded its search for the Lone Star State’s best foods and beverages to also include non-food items. In addition to food creators and innovators, Texas suppliers of beauty items, toys, homewares, housewares, gardening supplies, coolers and everything in between are now invited to join!
“We continue to be amazed at what Texans bring to the table and how their designs are received in stores,” said James Harris, Director, Diversity & Inclusion and Supplier Diversity, HEB. “The creativity and resilience of our Lone Star food, and now non-food creators, has elevated this contest with another year of amazing stories and products.”
Since the contest’s launch in 2014, HEB has reviewed more than 4,500 samples of the most creative and mouth-watering food and beverages made in Texas, judged more than 750 unique shelf-worthy products, and awarded nearly million dollars in prizes, marketing, supplements, support and mentorship. Qualifying products must not be available at any other major chain or retailer, and sellers must be willing to sell exclusively to HEB. Additionally, Texas-based vendors must also create, produce, or co-pack the products in Texas.
