NEW YORK: Pimco has asked to see a copy of the memoirs Bill Gross is writing before they are published.
According to New York Post, Pimco attorneys wrote a letter to Gross’ attorney in early January asking to read a manuscript of the memoirs before publication. Gross will self-publish his book on Amazon under the title I’m still standing.
“Pimco would like to offer Mr. Gross the opportunity for Pimco to review and comment on a manuscript of the book – or even excerpts from the manuscript to the extent that there are portions that relate to Pimco or Mr. Gross’ time at Pimco – ahead of publication,’ read the letter, according to the Post.
Pimco’s lawyers have suggested that if Gross doesn’t let the bond shop review the briefs, it could lead to another legal battle between the two sides, the To post reported.
A Pimco spokesperson declined to comment on the report.
Gross (pictured) founded fixed income giant Pimco in 1971 and left the company in acrimonious circumstances in 2014 to join Janus Henderson He retired from fund management in 2019.
In 2015, Gross sued Pimco for $200 million, claiming the company had destroyed his reputation. It was reported that the two sides settled, with Pimco paying $81 million gross, which he allegedly donated to charity.
