Publication “Democratic culture in the digital environment – a textbook for schools” published
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, schools, teachers and students have had to adapt to new ways of holding classes and new methods of teaching and learning. Teachers need to be creative when developing lesson plans to ensure continuity of learning and skill development for democratic culture. This led to a compilation of sample lesson plans which were then shaped into the new publication”Democratic culture in the digital environment – a textbook for schools”. Each lesson plan focuses on one or more Competences for Democratic Culture (CDC).
The manual is divided into four sections, following the CDC’s “butterfly” model: values, attitudes, skills, knowledge and critical understanding. It contains 56 examples created by the staff of the schools participating in the action “Quality education for all” in Serbia. Each example contains the name of the activity, whether it is an extracurricular or teaching activity, a list of the skills it refers to, the implementation steps and any tools and materials needed.
The manual is available online in English and Serbian.
The Quality Education for All action is implemented within the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe Joint Program “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”.
