Publication of post-16 exam results (including A-levels) today
Public exams have returned this year for the first time since the summer of 2019, with results, including A-Levels, being released this morning (Thursday August 18, 2022).
Shropshire Council Cabinet Member for Children and Education Kirstie Hurst-Knight said:-
“I would like to congratulate all the students who took the first round of public exams held since 2019. I would like to pay tribute to their efforts and determination, given the disruption of the pandemic in the run up to these exams. . We hope they have obtained results that will allow them to succeed in the future in furthering their studies or entering the world of work.
“I would also like to thank everyone involved in the Shropshire Schools and Colleges community, including our Virtual School which supports our supported students. This includes our qualified and dedicated teachers, our school leaders and university principals, our governors, our support staff, those who contribute voluntarily and, of course, the parents and guardians who play such an important supporting role. . I would like to acknowledge how our school and college staff have worked tirelessly throughout the year to support students during these exams.”
For those pursuing the university route, applicants can log into the UCAS Track service to check the status of their application. If students have not been accepted by the university of their choice, there are still plenty of places available through ‘Clearing’. For students whose results are different from what they expected, their school or college can provide additional advice and guidance.
