PARIS & BOULDER, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Regulatory news:

SpineGuard (Paris:ALSGD) (FR0011464452 – ALSGD), an innovative company that deploys its DSG (Dynamic Surgical Guidance) detection technology to secure and streamline the placement of bone implants, today announces the first clinical study in Japan quantifying the performance of the DSG, 19and worldwide peer-reviewed publication on its technology.

Keri George, Director of Clinical Research and Education at SpineGuard, said: “It’s exciting to see Japanese surgeons adopting innovative DSG technology to achieve better surgical results in such difficult spinal deformity cases.”

Summary of the study

A retrospective collection by Dr. Takashi Yurube from the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Kobe University et al, which involved twenty-one patients with syndromic/neuromuscular scoliosis. Patients who underwent spinal fixation surgery were divided into two groups, one had fixation using SpineGuard DSG technology; the other without it.

The results between the two groups showed a statistically significant difference on the three objectives: abandonment of the pedicle, precision of screw placement and perforation distance. In all three objectives, the DSG group showed superior results.

Publication
