The Bishops of Ireland on Tuesday welcomed the publication of the National Synthesis of the Synodal Process on www.synod.ie, while inviting “all the people of God in this country to study it carefully and prayerfully.”

The National Synthesis was transmitted to Rome as part of the global synodal process launched by Pope Francis in October 2021 and which will culminate in the General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in Rome in 2023.

Speaking at a Mass for the Knock Novena, during which the national summary was released, Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh Michael Router expressed his thanks to the ‘thousands of people’ who took part in the national level in the consultation process.

“I pray that this revival of the synodal path will help people realize that we are all part of a community of sinners walking the road together, supporting and helping each other as we strive to live as Jesus Christ wills it,” Dr. told the router.
